Do you love yourself? Do you know your self-worth? I thought I knew what it meant to love myself and know my self-worth, but little did I know I was wrong. Self-love is not putting yourself first in everything; it is not calling yourself beautiful every day, not saying, "I love me" every day. Self-love is knowing who you are and accepting yourself for who you are; from this, you know your worth. You cannot know your self-worth if you do not love yourself, and you cannot love yourself if you do not know yourself. Self-worth is different from how expensive you are. Self-worth is not your beauty. Self-worth is knowing Psalm 139:14 internally and allowing it to be established within you as you go through your everyday life. It says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well."
By knowing this, you know how to treat yourself. You know you are perfect the way you are; from this comes self-love. The Bible instructs us in Mark 12:31 to "Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." When you begin to know yourself and love yourself. You will know how to treat others. A lot of people misinterpret the phrase "Love others as yourself." You cannot give what you do not have. Many young females go above and beyond for others, such as their friends, boyfriends, crushes, etc, but this is not what Mark 12:31 instructs us to do. Loving others as yourself means you can go above and beyond for yourself. You treat yourself like you matter; from this, you treat others like they matter. We all matter. Genesis 1:26-27 says, "Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground" 27 "So God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." We should treat all people like they matter. In our society today, many of us only look out for ourselves, friends, and family. We do not care for others or have compassion for them. But God instructs us to love all people, a commandment that must be followed.
Self-worth is Self-love, and Self-love is self-acknowledgment. I want to challenge you today to begin to know your worth by loving yourself, and to love yourself, you must know yourself. Many young women face different concepts and aspects of self-worth daily through social media, TV shows, movies, etc, but we must make a conscious effort daily to know ourselves, love ourselves, and know our worth.
Thank you so much for reading; God Bless You Greatly. Remember to like, comment, share, and subscribe. If you are reading and do not believe in God, I encourage you to have an open heart and mind and give God a chance to prove himself to you. Please say this prayer: "Heavenly Father, I am a sinner and come to you to ask you to forgive me of my terrible sins. Thank you for dying for my sins and bearing the shame on that Cross so I may have eternal life. Today, I confess with my mouth that I have sinned against you, and believe with my whole heart that Jesus is Lord, and God raised Him from the dead on the third day. He is seated on the Heavenly throne and intercedes on my behalf. I give you my heart, soul, and life and pray that I will obey thy Word. In the precious name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen."
If you just said that prayer, welcome to the family of believers. Congratulations!! Heaven rejoiced; God is so glad and happy to have you in his family.
